Target Information
The NR0B1 (DAX1) gene encodes a protein containing a DNA-binding domain. The encoded protein functions as a dominant-negative regulator of transcription mediated by the retinoic acid receptor and acts as an anti-testis gene antagonistic to Sry. Mutations in this gene are associated with X-linked congenital adrenal hypoplasia and hypogonadotropic hypogonadism.
