Target Information
SIRT5는 인간 Sirtuin(Sir2-like) 단백질 계열의 구성원으로, 원핵생물과 진핵생물 모두에서 발견됩니다. 모든 Sir2-like 단백질은 박테리아부터 인간에 이르기까지 보존된 서열 모티프를 포함하는 sirtuin core domain을 가지고 있습니다.
박테리아, 효모 및 포유류의 sirtuin은 NAD를 대사할 수 있으며, 일부는 mono-ADP-ribosyltransferase로 작용할 가능성이 있습니다.
Sirtuin의 효소 기능은 아직 완전히 규명되지 않았지만, 최근 연구에서는 Sir2에 의한 NAD 대사 및 히스톤 탈아세틸화의 상호 활성화 메커니즘이 제시되고 있습니다.
