Target Information
PDE2A (phosphodiesterase 2A) is a 100 kDa cyclic nucleotide phosphodiesterase. Three isoforms (PDE2A1, PDE2A2, and PDE2A3) are produced from a single gene by alternative splicing. PDE2A can degrade both cAMP and cGMP, with higher efficiency for cGMP. It is highly expressed in the brain, particularly in the cerebellum and neocortex, and has been implicated in erectile dysfunction and regulation of endothelial cell barrier function.
