Target Information
PGAM1 (Phosphoglycerate Mutase 1) is a key enzyme in glycolysis, catalyzing the reversible conversion of 3-phosphoglycerate (3-PGA) to 2-phosphoglycerate (2-PGA). It functions as a dimeric enzyme with tissue-specific isoforms: MM (muscle), BB (brain), and MB (hybrid).
Mutations in PGAM1 are associated with glycogen storage disease type X. Recombinant human PGAM1 protein with an N-terminal His-tag was expressed in E. coli and purified using conventional chromatography.
