Target Information
SOAT2 유전자는 acyl coenzyme A:cholesterol acyltransferases 계열에 속하며, 세포 내에서 long-chain fatty acyl CoA와 cholesterol을 이용해 cholesterol ester를 생성하는 내막 결합 효소를 암호화합니다. 생성된 cholesterol ester는 세포질 내 지질 방울 형태로 저장됩니다. 이 효소는 장내 콜레스테롤 흡수 및 VLDL과 같은 아포지단백질 B 함유 지질단백질의 조립과 분비에 관여합니다. 여러 가지 alternative splicing 변이체가 보고되어 있으나, 완전한 길이는 알려져 있지 않습니다.
