Target Information
RARRES1 gene was identified as a retinoid acid (RA) receptor-responsive gene encoding a type 1 membrane protein. Its expression is upregulated by tazarotene and retinoic acid receptors, but downregulated in prostate cancer due to promoter and CpG island methylation. Alternatively spliced transcript variants encoding distinct isoforms have been observed.
