Target Information
Nectin-3 is an 83 kDa type I transmembrane glycoprotein, belonging to the immunoglobulin superfamily of cell-cell adhesion molecules. Nectins (1–4) mediate calcium-independent cell-cell adhesion and participate in forming diverse junctions such as adherens junctions, synaptic junctions, and Sertoli cell-spermatid junctions.
Nectin-3 (also known as PRR3) is predominantly expressed in testis and placental tissues and interacts with afadin and CD155. It plays an important role in maintaining cell-cell junction integrity and spermatid maturation.
