Target Information
C1orf31, also known as COA6, is a conserved mitochondrial protein required for respiratory complex IV biogenesis. Studies have shown that C1orf31 is necessary for maintaining cytochrome c oxidase (CcO) subunit levels and plays a role in the copper delivery pathway to CcO. Defects in C1orf31 are associated with mitochondrial respiratory chain disease (MRCD) (PMID: 24549041).
