Product Specific Information
The eBioRDR5 monoclonal antibody reacts with human CD127 (Interleukin-7 Receptor alpha, IL-7Rα). CD127 forms a complex with CD132 (common gamma chain) to generate the IL-7 receptor, a type I glycoprotein (75–80 kDa) expressed on immature B cells, thymocytes, and most mature T cells, with transient down-regulation upon activation.
IL-7 binding triggers signaling through tyrosine kinase pathways including Jak/STAT, which is essential for lymphocyte development and T-cell homeostasis. CD127 expression is down-regulated on CD4+CD25+ regulatory T cells (Tregs), and this down-regulation is a reliable marker for enriched Treg populations expressing Foxp3.
Binding of eBioRDR5 to PBMCs can be blocked by pre-incubation with recombinant human IL-7 (Product #14-1079-80).

Target Information
CD127 (Interleukin-7 Receptor alpha, IL7Rα) is a glycoprotein that regulates lymphopoiesis. The functional IL-7 receptor is a heterodimer of alpha and gamma chains, with the gamma chain also associating with IL-2 receptor to mediate signal transduction. CD127 promotes proliferation of precursor B cells, thymocytes, and mature CD4+/CD8+ T cells. Dysregulation of CD127 is associated with severe combined immunodeficiency (SCID).
