MGARP는 미세소관을 따라 미토콘드리아의 수송에 관여하며, 저산소 조건에서 신경 말단으로의 키네신 매개 축삭 수송을 조절합니다. 또한 TRAK2/GRIF1의 세포질에서 미토콘드리아로의 이동에 관여하고, 미토콘드리아의 형태 및 풍부도를 유지하여 스테로이드 생성 과정에도 역할을 합니다.
