RPTP gamma (Receptor-type tyrosine-protein phosphatase gamma, R-PTP-gamma, PTPRG)는 인간 염색체 3p14.2-p21에 위치한 단백질 티로신 포스파테이스(PTP)로, 특정 신장 및 폐암종에서 결실되는 영역에 존재하는 종양 억제 유전자 후보입니다.
In situ hybridization 분석에 따르면 RPTP gamma mRNA는 뇌의 특정 영역에서 발현되며, 뇌 발달 과정 중 위치가 변화합니다.
RPTP gamma는 세포외 도메인, 단일 막관통 도메인, 그리고 두 개의 연속된 촉매성 티로신 포스파테이스 도메인을 포함하는 세포질 부분으로 구성되어 있습니다. 세포외 도메인은 carbonic anhydrase (CAH)와 유사한 266 아미노산 서열을 포함하고 있으며, 이는 RPTP gamma와 RPTP beta(HPTP zeta)가 receptor tyrosine phosphatases의 하위 패밀리를 형성함을 시사합니다. RPTP gamma는 대사성 CO₂의 수화 반응 촉매 이외의 기능을 가질 수 있습니다.
