Target Information
Kaposi’s sarcoma-associated herpesvirus (KSHV) belongs to the gamma-(2)-herpesvirus subfamily and is closely linked to Kaposi’s sarcoma, primary effusion lymphoma (PEL), and multicentric Castleman’s disease.
The KSHV genome (165–170 kb) contains at least 88 open reading frames.
KSHV ORF26 spans nucleotides 46933–47850 and encodes a capsid protein (Akula et al., 2003).
