Target Information
AKT2 is a phosphoinositide-dependent serine/threonine protein kinase enriched in insulin-responsive tissues and implicated in the metabolic actions of insulin.
Akt functions in multiple signaling pathways and acts as a transducer of signals initiated by growth factor receptors that activate phosphatidylinositol 3-kinase (PI 3-kinase).
AKT2 is known to be amplified and overexpressed in certain human cancers.
