Angiopoietin-like protein 4 (ANGPTL4)는 지방 조직, 간, 태반 등에서 선택적으로 발현되는 분비 단백질로, 지방형성, 혈관신생, 암 발생 등 다양한 생리적 과정에 관여합니다. ANGPTL4의 발현은 영양 및 호르몬에 의해 조절되며, VEGF와 독립적으로 강력한 혈관신생 반응을 유도합니다. 또한 저산소 상태의 인체 조직 및 다양한 암(지방육종, 간세포암, 신세포암 등)에서 발현이 보고되었습니다.
