- P300A targets TNF Alpha in ELISA, IHC(P), Neu, and WB applications and shows reactivity with Human samples.
- The P300A immunogen is recombinant human TNF alpha.
- P300A detects TNF Alpha with a predicted molecular weight of approximately 26 kDa.
- Tested for endotoxins by limulus amoebocyte lysate (LAL) assay; endotoxin concentration ≤10 EU/mg.
Target Information
TNF alpha is a multifunctional proinflammatory cytokine belonging to the tumor necrosis factor (TNF) superfamily. It is mainly secreted by macrophages and binds to TNFRSF1A/TNFR1 and TNFRSF1B/TNFBR receptors. TNF alpha regulates immune cells, cell proliferation, differentiation, apoptosis, lipid metabolism, and coagulation.
It exists as multimers of two to five noncovalently linked units, showing a single 17 kDa band under non-reducing SDS-PAGE conditions. Knockout studies in mice indicate its neuroprotective function and tumor necrosis activity when injected into tumor-bearing mice.
TNF alpha also contributes to immune responses against bacterial, viral, parasitic, and fungal infections and induces cytolysis or cytostasis of certain transformed cells, synergistic with interferon-gamma. It is implicated in autoimmune diseases, insulin resistance, and cancer.
