Product Specific Information
A dilution of 1:50–1:200 of MA5-45501 was sufficient for detection of VAChT transporter in rat brain using immunohistochemistry and goat anti-mouse IgG:HRP as the secondary antibody. Detects approximately 56 kDa.
This antibody was formerly sold as clone S6-38.
Target Information
This gene belongs to the vesicular amine transporter family. The encoded transmembrane protein transports acetylcholine into secretory vesicles for release into the extracellular space. Acetylcholine transport utilizes a proton gradient established by a vacuolar ATPase. The gene is located within the first intron of the choline acetyltransferase gene.
