This peptide corresponds to a 19 amino acid sequence near the amino terminus of human RGS22.
PEP-1468 can be used as a blocking peptide with polyclonal antibody PA5-34426.
Target Information
Regulator of G-protein signaling (RGS) proteins contain a conserved 120 amino acid RGS domain that functions as a GTPase-activating protein to reduce signaling from receptor-activated G-alpha subunits.
RGS22 is a recently identified member of this family, localized to the testis, and interacts with guanine nucleotide-binding proteins alpha 11, 12, and 13 (GNA11, GNA12, GNA13).
Although RGS22 is implicated in spermiogenesis, it is also expressed in several epithelial-origin cancer cell lines and associated with cancer metastasis. Overexpression of RGS22 in highly metastatic cancer cells decreases migration and invasiveness, suggesting its potential as a prognostic biomarker for metastasis.
