Target Information
VPS29 gene belongs to a group of vacuolar protein sorting genes that, when impaired, disrupt the delivery of vacuolar hydrolases. The encoded protein is part of the retromer complex, involved in retrograde transport of proteins from endosomes to the trans-Golgi network. It may contribute to the formation of the inner shell of the retromer coat for retrograde vesicles leaving the prevacuolar compartment. Multiple splice variants and polyadenylation sites have been reported.
