Target Information
The Gb5 protein is a G protein subunit predominantly expressed in the central nervous system. It exists in two forms: a 39 kDa variant found in the brain and a 44 kDa variant found in the retina. Gb5 associates tightly with RGS7, a regulator of G protein signaling, and these complexes are localized throughout most brain regions. Gb1–4 subunits do not colocalize with RGS7 despite their similar neuronal distribution. This antibody specifically recognizes a peptide sequence within the D1 blade unique to Gb5 and not present in Gb1–4.
