FLT1 (VEGFR1)는 혈관신생(angiogenesis)에 중요한 역할을 하는 수용체 티로신 키나아제로, 종양 진행, 당뇨병성 망막병증, 류머티즘성 관절염, 상처 치유 등 다양한 병리적 및 생리적 과정에서 활성 혈관신생에 관여합니다. 배아기 혈관신생을 억제하는 음성 조절자로 작용하며, 성체에서는 세포 유형에 따라 내피세포 증식과 생존, 혈관신생을 촉진할 수 있습니다. VEGFA에 대한 높은 결합 친화성을 가지며, VEGFA 신호를 제한하여 음성 조절자로 기능할 수 있습니다.
