RCCD1는 위성 반복 서열의 전사 억제에 관여하며, KDM8과 함께 중심절 영역의 H3K36 메틸화 수준을 조절할 수 있습니다 (PubMed:24981860). 또한 KDM8과 함께 적절한 유사분열 방추체 조직 및 염색체 분리에 관여할 가능성이 있습니다. RCCD1은 α-tubulin 탈아세틸화 및 세포골격 미세소관 안정성을 조절하여 세포 이동 및 TGF-β 유도 상피-간엽 전이(EMT)를 촉진하는 역할을 할 수 있습니다 (PubMed:28455245).
