Target Information
The genus Streptococcus includes a variety of pathogenic and commensal gram-positive bacteria that inhabit a wide range of hosts such as humans, horses, pigs, and cows. Within hosts, these bacteria typically colonize mucosal surfaces like the mouth, nares, and pharynx, but may also be found in the skin, heart, or muscle tissue.
