Product Specific Information
- Reconstitute in 100 µL of sterile water. Centrifuge to remove any insoluble material.
- The antigen is homologous in many other species including rat, human, marmoset, zebrafish, xenopus and guinea pig.
- Specificity: Catalase.
Target Information
Catalase is a homotetrameric heme-containing enzyme located within the matrix of all peroxisomes. It catalyzes the dismutation of hydrogen peroxide into water and oxygen.
Human catalase has four amino acids (-KANL) at the extreme C-terminus for peroxisome targeting. The monomer size is approximately 61.3 kDa.
Catalase plays a role in inflammation, mutagenesis, apoptosis prevention, and tumor stimulation. Loss of catalase function causes acatalasemia (Takahara’s disease).
