Protein Form: Recombinant, Full Length


Target Information

Aurora kinases are associated with microtubules during chromosome movement and segregation.
AURKB (Aurora B) localizes to microtubules near kinetochores, specifically to K-fibers, and functions in:

  • Chromosome alignment and separation
  • Histone modification
  • Cytokinesis

The Chromosomal Passenger Complex (CPC) includes:

  • INCENP (Inner Centromere Protein)
  • Survivin
  • Borealin

These subunits regulate Aurora B’s activity, localization, stability, and substrate specificity.
During mitosis, two CPC forms exist:

  1. Full complex (AurB + INCENP + Survivin + Borealin)
  2. INCENP-AurB complex

AurB is overexpressed in several tumors, including breast and colon cancers, and may interact with Aurora-A kinase in a feedback mechanism.
