Target Information
TLR7 is a highly conserved membrane protein belonging to the Toll-like receptor (TLR) family, containing 27 leucine-rich repeats (LRR) and a TIR domain. It plays a key role in pathogen recognition and activation of innate immunity.
TLR7 is activated by single-stranded RNA viruses such as influenza and vesicular stomatitis virus (VSV), and is predominantly expressed in lung, placenta, and spleen.
It interacts with MyD88 and TRAF6, leading to NF-κB activation, cytokine secretion, and inflammatory responses.
TLR7 recognizes pathogen-associated molecular patterns (PAMPs) and mediates cytokine production necessary for effective immune response.
