Product Specific Information

MA5-17027 targets ACLY in indirect ELISA, FACS, ICC, IHC, IF, and WB applications and shows reactivity with Human, Mouse, Non-human primate, and Rat samples.
The immunogen is a purified recombinant fragment of human ACLY (amino acids 306–502) expressed in E. coli.
MA5-17027 detects ACLY, which has a predicted molecular weight of approximately 125 kDa.

Target Information

ATP citrate lyase is the primary enzyme responsible for the synthesis of cytosolic acetyl-CoA in many tissues. The enzyme is a tetramer (molecular weight ≈ 440,000) composed of identical subunits. It catalyzes the formation of acetyl-CoA and oxaloacetate from citrate and CoA, with concomitant hydrolysis of ATP to ADP and phosphate.
Acetyl-CoA serves several important biosynthetic pathways, including lipogenesis and cholesterogenesis. In nervous tissue, ATP citrate lyase may be involved in acetylcholine biosynthesis.
Two transcript variants encoding distinct isoforms have been identified for this gene.
