PIP4K2A (phosphatidylinositol-5-phosphate 4-kinase, type II, alpha)는 phosphatidylinositol-5-phosphate 4-kinase 패밀리의 구성원으로, myo-inositol ring의 4번째 hydroxyl 위치에서 phosphatidylinositol-5-phosphate를 인산화하여 phosphatidylinositol-4,5-bisphosphate를 형성합니다.
이 단백질은 세포 신호전달, 분비, 증식, 분화, 이동 조절에 중요한 역할을 하며, β-globin 유전자 발현 조절 및 α-thalassemia 환자의 Hb H 수준과 관련이 있을 수 있습니다.
