The glypicans comprise a family of glycosylphosphatidylinositol (GPI)-anchored heparan sulfate proteoglycans involved in the regulation of cell growth and division.
Glypican 6 functions as a putative cell surface co-receptor for growth factors, extracellular matrix proteins, proteases, and anti-proteases.
