Product Specific Information
- Immunohistochemistry (PFA fixed): Incubate antibody for 30 minutes at room temperature.
- For formalin-fixed tissues: Heat tissue sections in 10 mM Tris with 1 mM EDTA, pH 9.0, for 45 minutes at 95°C, then cool at room temperature for 20 minutes.
Target Information
PSA (Prostate Specific Antigen) is a chymotrypsin-like serine protease belonging to the kallikrein family, produced by the prostate epithelium and abundant in seminal fluid. PSA can be detected in the sera of patients with prostatic carcinoma, predominantly complexed with alpha-1-antichymotrypsin (ACT). A higher proportion of PSA-ACT complexes is observed in prostate cancer compared to benign prostatic hyperplasia. PSA is widely used to confirm prostatic acinar cell origin in primary and metastatic carcinoma and to rule out non-prostatic carcinoma mimics.
