Target Information
Translational regulator that ensures constant high levels of translation under stress conditions such as amino acid starvation, UV-C irradiation, proteasome inhibitor treatment, and glucose deprivation. Acts as a negative regulator of EIF2AK4/GCN2 kinase activity by impairing GCN1-mediated activation, reducing eIF-2-alpha phosphorylation, and maintaining protein synthesis. May regulate translation in neuronal cells under amino acid starvation by preventing GCN2 activation and ATF4 synthesis. Plays a role in neuronal differentiation by stimulating neurite outgrowth.
