Target Information
Ubiquitin은 세포 단백질을 26S proteasome에 의해 분해하도록 표적화하는 고도로 보존된 단백질입니다. 해당 유전자는 N 말단의 ubiquitin과 C 말단의 ribosomal protein S27a로 구성된 융합 단백질을 암호화합니다. 효모에서 발현될 경우, 단백질은 번역 후 처리되어 자유 ubiquitin 단량체와 ribosomal protein S27a를 생성합니다. Ribosomal protein S27a는 40S 리보솜 소단위의 구성 요소로, C4-type zinc finger domain을 포함하며 세포질에 위치합니다. 또한 이 유전자에서 유래된 pseudogene이 존재합니다. Ribosomal protein L40과 S30 역시 ubiquitin 또는 ubiquitin-like 단백질과 융합된 형태로 합성됩니다.
