Target Information
GOLPH1, also known as GCP60, is a Golgi protein that interacts with the integral membrane protein giantin and contributes to Golgi structure maintenance. It also interacts with Golgin-160, which can be cleaved by caspases-2, -3, and -7, leading to nuclear localization of Golgin-160 fragments. The interaction is regulated by the oxidation state of Cys-463 within GOLPH1. Additionally, GOLPH1 interacts with Numb, a signaling protein involved in asymmetric cell division of neural progenitor cells, suggesting that Golgi fragmentation and reconstitution may regulate Numb signaling and couple cell fate with cell cycle progression.
