ADCY4 (Adenylyl Cyclase 4) is a membrane-associated enzyme that catalyzes the formation of cyclic adenosine monophosphate (cAMP), a key secondary messenger. Mouse studies indicate that ADCY4, along with ADCY2 and ADCY3, is expressed in olfactory cilia, suggesting multiple receptor-mediated mechanisms for cAMP signal generation.
