ACAA2 (3-Ketoacyl-CoA thiolase) is an enzyme encoded by the ACAA2 gene in humans.
Acetyl-Coenzyme A acyltransferase 2 catalyzes the final step of mitochondrial fatty acid β-oxidation.
This protein contains a non-cleavable amino-terminal targeting signal, distinguishing it from most mitochondrial matrix proteins.
