Androgen-induced 1 (AIG1)는 새로운 Pirh2 상호작용 단백질로, 인간 진피 유두세포에서 처음 클로닝되었으며 초파리부터 인간까지 진화적으로 보존되어 있습니다. 이 단백질은 막 단백질로 FAR-17a 도메인을 포함하는 단백질 패밀리에 속합니다.
AIG1은 안드로겐 조절 모발 성장에 관여할 수 있으며, 간세포암(HCC)의 진단 및 예후 평가를 위한 새로운 바이오마커로 활용될 가능성이 있습니다. 또한 잠재적인 종양 억제 인자로 제안됩니다.
