Product Specific Information
For reconstitution, add 100 µL distilled water to achieve a final antibody concentration of approximately 1 mg/mL.
For conjugation experiments using carrier-free antibody, perform an additional round of desalting using Zeba Spin Desalting Columns (7K MWCO, 0.5 mL, Product #89882).
Target Information
The MAPK8IP1 gene encodes a protein that regulates pancreatic beta-cell function. It is homologous to mouse JIP-1, a regulator of c-Jun N-terminal kinase (MAPK8). This protein inhibits MAPK8-mediated transcription factor activation and reduces IL-1β and MEKK1-induced apoptosis in pancreatic beta cells. It also acts as a DNA-binding transactivator for the glucose transporter GLUT2.
REST (RE1-silencing transcription factor) represses MAPK8IP1 expression in insulin-secreting beta cells. Mutations in this gene are associated with type 2 diabetes susceptibility.
