Target Information

TULA (T cell ubiquitin ligand, UBASH3A, ubiquitin associated and SH3 domain containing A), also known as STS-2 or CLIP4, is a 661 amino acid protein localized in both the nucleus and cytoplasm. It contains one SH3 domain and one UBA domain.
Highly expressed in thymus, bone marrow, spleen, and peripheral blood leukocytes, TULA forms homodimers or homo-oligomers that interfere with receptor-type tyrosine kinase degradation, promoting accumulation of activated receptors on the cell surface.
TULA participates in an EGFR- and Cbl-containing complex interacting with ubiquitinated proteins. The gene encoding TULA, located on human chromosome 21, may be implicated in type I diabetes pathogenesis. Multiple isoforms exist due to alternative splicing events.
