Product Specific Information
The antibody was affinity-purified from rabbit antiserum by affinity chromatography using an epitope-specific immunogen. The purity is greater than 95% as determined by SDS-PAGE.
Target Information
The VPS4B protein belongs to the AAA protein family (ATPases associated with diverse cellular activities) and is homologous to the yeast Vps4 protein. In humans, two paralogs of the yeast protein have been identified, sharing high amino acid sequence similarity with each other, yeast Vps4, and mouse Skd1 proteins. Mouse Skd1 (suppressor of K⁺ transport defect 1) is a yeast Vps4 ortholog. Functional studies indicate that both human paralogs associate with endosomal compartments and are involved in intracellular protein trafficking, similar to Vps4 in yeast. The gene encoding this paralog is located on chromosome 18, while the other paralog resides on chromosome 16.
