이 유전자는 F-box를 포함하는 단백질을 암호화하며, SCF형 E3 유비퀴틴 리가아제 복합체의 구성 요소로 세포 분열 개시를 조절합니다. 세포 주기의 G2/M 전환에는 cyclin B1과 cyclin-dependent kinase 1의 상호작용이 필요하며, 활성화된 유비퀴틴 리가아제 복합체는 cyclin B1 단백질을 분해 대상으로 삼아 유사분열로의 전환을 방지합니다.
