Background
Promotes growth and fasciculation of neurites from cultured hippocampal neurons. May be involved in fasciculation and myelination of developing neural axons, and play a role in regeneration and neural plasticity in the adult nervous system. May mediate homophilic and heterophilic cell–cell interactions and contribute to signal transduction via its intracellular domain.
