Target Information

This gene encodes a protein involved in kinetochore function, though its exact role is not fully defined. It interacts with ZW10, another kinetochore protein, possibly regulating their association. The protein localizes to prophase kinetochores before ZW10 and remains detectable until late anaphase. It is uniformly distributed in the cytoplasm of interphase cells. Alternatively spliced transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been identified.
