Target Information
The human p8 (NUPR1) gene encodes a nuclear protein with strong mitogenic activity, expressed in the pancreas in response to acute pancreatitis. Response to TNF alpha and staurosporine-induced apoptosis is not modified by p8 expression; however, cells expressing p8 grow significantly faster.
