Target Information
TCP-1 (t complex polypeptide 1) is a subunit of the heterooligomeric complex CCT (chaperonin containing TCP-1) found in the eukaryotic cytosol. The CCT complex comprises eight distinct subunits: TCP-1 alpha, beta, gamma, delta, epsilon, zeta, eta, and theta, each encoded by separate genes. Two zeta subunits exist: TCP-1 zeta1 and TCP-1 zeta2. These subunits assist in folding actin and tubulin proteins. TCP-1 was first identified in mice and plays essential roles in cytosolic protein folding across species.
