Target Information
TIMM50 (Mitochondrial import inner membrane translocase subunit TIM50) is an enzyme encoded by the TIMM50 gene in humans. Tim50 is a subunit of the Tim23 translocase complex located in the inner mitochondrial membrane. Mutations in TIMM50 have been associated with epilepsy, severe intellectual disability, and 3-methylglutaconic aciduria. Expression of TIMM50 is increased in breast cancer cells and decreased in hypertrophic hearts.
