Target Information
Actins are highly conserved proteins involved in cell motility, structure, and integrity. Alpha actins are major components of the contractile apparatus, while beta and gamma actins regulate cell motility. This antibody targets alpha actin found in skeletal muscle. Mutations in the corresponding gene can lead to conditions such as nemaline myopathy type 3 and other congenital myopathies associated with muscle fiber defects.
