This antibody is directed against human MTBP protein. The product was produced from clarified mouse ascitic fluid.
A BLAST analysis suggests reactivity with human (100% homology) and chimpanzee MTBP protein.
Cross-reactivity with mouse (77%) and chicken (79%) MTBP proteins is unlikely due to low positive residues and high sequence gaps.
Cross-reactivity with MTBP homologues from other species has not been determined.

Target Information

MTBP inhibits cell migration in vitro and suppresses tumor cell invasiveness.
It may play a role in MDM2-dependent TP53/p53 homeostasis in unstressed cells by inhibiting MDM2 autoubiquitination, enhancing its stability, and promoting TP53/p53 degradation.
