Apoptosis-linked gene 2-interacting protein X (ALIX) is a conserved adaptor protein ubiquitously expressed in cells. Initially identified for its role in apoptosis, ALIX has since been shown to participate in multiple cellular processes including endosomal sorting, endocytosis, viral budding, and actin cytoskeleton assembly.
