Target Information
Ribosomes are the organelles that catalyze protein synthesis, consisting of a small 40S subunit and a large 60S subunit. These subunits include 4 RNA species and about 80 distinct proteins.
The RPL4 gene encodes a ribosomal protein that is part of the 60S subunit and belongs to the L4E family. It is located in the cytoplasm. As typical for ribosomal protein genes, multiple processed pseudogenes of RPL4 are dispersed throughout the genome.
