Arylsulfatase B는 sulfatase 계열에 속하며, N-Acetyl-D-galactosamine, chondroitin sulfate, dermatan sulfate의 황산기를 가수분해하는 효소입니다. 이 단백질은 리소좀으로 이동하며, 결핍 시 Mucopolysaccharidosis type VI (Maroteaux-Lamy syndrome)을 유발할 수 있습니다. 두 가지 상이한 아이소폼을 암호화하는 대체 스플라이싱 전사체가 보고되었습니다.
