Aipl1은 Leber congenital amaurosis (LCA)와 관련된 단백질로, 광수용체 발달 이상에 의해 발생하는 상염색체 열성 질환과 연관되어 있습니다.
이 단백질은 ARA9과 높은 상동성을 가지며, HSP90 매개 핵 내 이동 및 aryl hydrocarbon receptor의 전사활성화에 관여합니다.
Aipl1은 Hsp90 및 Hsp70과 상호작용하는 샤페론 복합체의 일부로 작용하며, 세포주기 조절 인자인 NUB1과도 결합합니다.
Hsp70과의 협력은 정상적인 광수용체 성숙에 필수적이며, LCA를 유발하는 돌연변이는 이러한 샤페론 상호작용을 저해합니다.
Aipl1은 최소 세 가지 isoform이 알려져 있습니다.
